Cool Colors.

For the cool colors assignment i decided to break my three pictures up into three colors. One purple, one blue, and one white. Each of them contain a different element and give the effect that each picture represents it's own color.

Lighting

This is my first light photograph. I put the light behind my model so that the only thing that would show up in the lighting is the outline of her profile. I like the way it turned out because it's different. It's almost like a trick photograph because when you take a quick glance you think that it's just a streak of light on a long exposure, but after you look at it closely you start to see that there is a figure behind it.

This is my second light photograph. I held the spotlight on the left side of my model so that it would only highlight half of her face. I felt that this would create a dramatic effect and also add alot of contrast. I dodged and burned her eye to make it the focal point of the piece. I like the way it turned out because i like the overall tone of the photograph and i like that it's only focused on her face.

This is my third light image. I placed a spotlight directly under my model and made certain shadows and highlights on her face. I had her wear really dramatic makeup. Since it didn't show up very well in the actual photograph i dodged her eyes in photoshop so i could add more brightness. I like the way it turned out because it almost looks like there's a fire under her.

Greek Myth: Cyclops

This is the picture i took for my Greek myth. This assignment was somewhat challenging for me because the initial idea i had for the project didn't work out the way i wanted it to. I was stuck trying to create a multiple person effect by doing a long exposure. I put my model in the basement and had everything dark except for a spotlight. I ended up turning on the light, then having him move while the light was off, and flicking it back on again. This made him appear four times but the thing that bothers me is that he isn't as clear in each one. I tried to fix this by using a different camera and changing the aperture and shutter speed a million times. I finally ended up with an image that worked okay, but i still don't think this is a good enough photograph. If i had to do it again i would just keep trying to change the amount of light, the shutter speed, and the aperture until i got it right.
