Artist Statement

The theme I chose for my project is fashion. My original idea was to do a series of high fashion black and white photos. After taking the first few I changed my mind. I feel that my photos work together better as a series in color rather than black and white. Adding color to the photos made them stand out more, and I feel that keeping them black and white would have made my series become boring. The three middle pictures are emulations from Vogue magazines; years 2006, 2007, and 2008. The first image is an emulation of what Vogue would have been like in the 50’s, and the last is a futuristic look. I feel that although my pictures are different sizes they still look cohesive due to the unifying theme of fashion.

Separation of Church and State.

This is for my political theory photograph. I decided to emulate the separation of church and state. I couldn't decide which photograph I wanted to use so I decided to post two. Feedback?

Shoes.

This picture is for the "selling a product" assignment. The product i decided to do was shoes. My idea at first had not come across in the photograph like i expected so i decided to take a new approach. This turned out to be the best picture of them all.
